Christian Life Coaching

Christian Life Coaching

Life coaching is still relatively new and has a veil of vagueness around it.  However, in my personal experience, and with clients, life coaching has the ability to help people make their goals and dreams a reality.

Life coaching is life-changing!

Let’s take a look at life coaching from a perspective of how it helps you!

How do you even know you need life coaching?

Most people I know have had some moment or season in their life where they woke up one day and said “How did I get here?  This isn’t what I planned or dreamed for my life.”

I think this happens when we just let “life happen”.  When we are passive and just deal with life as it comes at us.

We live in a fallen world and this can be quite a scary strategy.

As a Christian I know that I need to live life pursuing my relationship with Christ and living life for Him.  Jesus had a plan for life.  It was His Father’s plan that He was fulfilling.

I believe God has a plan for us all.  We have to seek Him and His will for our lives.  For most of us, His will for us is active.

For Christians I think it is imperative to have a life coach that sees things from a Christian world view.  It is very different from the world’s view.

A Christian life coach will help you to seek God and His will for your life.  They know that God gives us our dreams and desires too.  These don’t have to be mis-aligned.

With a Christian life coach, who gets your faith, you have a partner that will help you “fulfill” God’s plan for your life.  When you wake up one morning and say “How did I get here?”, you will immediately follow with “Thank you Lord for your grace and favor to get me to this place in life!”

What is a Christian Life Coach?

A Christian life coach, keeps faith and God’s will at the center of the coaching relationship.

As a counselor and coach I ask people all of the time to describe life if it was how you wanted it to be.  I have even used the “if you could wave a magic wand” and make it so, what would your life look like.

With no exaggeration, 98% do not know!

Not even a start.

A life coach can provide tools to help you to figure out what the picture looks like.

Many times we feel a call from God on our life or we had childhood dreams but they are growing dust on the shelf in our dream closet.

I think this is part Satan and part not having a plan.  Now that I have this great picture of a life….

…. with a strong, healthy, satisfying marriage

…. in a completely different career

…. that is not chaotic, over-burdened, and over-booked

…. where I am making a difference in God’s Kingdom

HOW DO I GET THERE??

A life coach provides the structure and the path to create the plan to get there.

Some of us get past Satan’s initial barriers and we start down the path.  We start taking classes for that new career, we go to the marriage conference, or we begin using the time management tools we learn.

We are on our way.

Then a detour jumps in our path.

We have a financial emergency and have to work more to make ends meet.

A family illness consumes all of our extra time.

Things aren’t moving very fast and we get distracted.

A life coach keeps us accountable, motivated and on track!

I have worked with several life coaches myself.  I know it sounds a little corny, but to me the help I need most is to have an encourager by my side.

Someone to pray for me consistently.

Someone who believes in me and wants me to live the life God has planned for me.

Someone who will confront me when I let Satan take me off track.

Someone who will come along side of me so that I don’t feel alone on the journey.

A life coach is someone to come along side us on the journey!

This is the type of life coaches we strive to be!

If the picture is still fuzzy, here are some case studies that may walk you through how life coaching can help you:

Mid-life career change

Improving communication and assertiveness

Achieving work/life balance

Spiritual growth

If we would only give the same amount of reflection to what we want out of life that we give to the question of what to do with two weeks’ vacation, we would be startled at our false standards and the aimless procession of our busy days.”

Life Coaching Programs

Structure always helps define things that are vague to us.  As I have worked with people as a life coach it has been helpful to have programs to start us out.  This not only helps people move something important forward in life, it also illustrates and provides experience to the life coaching process.

Here are the foundational life coaching programs we offer, however, are very flexible to provide coaching that meets your specific needs.

Life by Designis a 5 part coaching program that excavates the real you, and aligned with God’s will for your life, re-establishes the plans God has for you.  In concert with the God who created you we will map out the journey to re-align your life to your God given dreams.

Career by Design - A two month career coaching program that includes 6 coaching sessions, a Career by Design Workbook, and other resources that are chosen based on your specific path.

Changes – 90 days to making changes in the areas that will have the biggest impact on your life.

If you still have questions after reading the case studies and the details of the coaching programs, please don’t hesitate to call us or email us.  We believe that life coaching is life changing and we want to make sure that any and all of your questions are answered!
