Hi! Thanks for visiting! Click here to subscribe to our blog.

Therapeutic Approach:

I provide Christian counseling to the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. I genuinely love working with people and am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate their unique journeys. I welcome teens, young adults, adults, and the elderly, recognizing that each life stage brings its own challenges and opportunities. Everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts and feelings. My therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) within a solution-focused framework and the Gottman Couple therapeutic approach for marriages.

We will collaborate to identify practical strategies that empower you to overcome challenges and create meaningful change in your life with you being the expert about your life. I understand the vital roles that individuals of all ages play in their families and communities, and I am committed to supporting you as you embrace your strengths and navigate the complexities of life. Your journey is important to me, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Expertise:

I’m dedicated to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenging experiences and moments, offering therapy that honors both psychological healing and spiritual growth. Rooted in biblical principles of compassion and restoration, I provide compassionate guidance while striving to build a strong therapeutic alliance with you. I offer counseling for various challenges, which may include anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, relational issues, adoption and foster care concerns, infertility, spiritual development, stress management, self-worth issues, and mood disorders.

Drawing inspiration from scriptures that affirm individual worth and potential for transformation, I offer a safe and supportive environment for women, men, teens, couples, and parents seeking holistic healing and personal growth. Your unique story matters, and together we’ll create meaningful strategies for transformation, trusting in the promise that healing is possible.

Qualifications:

I hold an Advanced Standing Master of Social Work: Individual and Family Clinical Degree from Liberty University in 2025. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Northwestern State University in 1996.

My extensive experience as a social worker has focused on understanding the complexities of family dynamics, particularly in times of breakdown. Throughout my career, I have led adoption and foster care ministry initiatives, working closely with the Department of Children and Family Services to support families in crisis and promote healing. This collaborative approach has allowed me to gain deep insights into the unique challenges faced by families navigating adoption and foster care.

In addition to my social work experience, I have spent years providing biblical counseling to women at my church. This role has deepened my understanding of the emotional and spiritual needs of women, equipping me to offer compassionate support and guidance during hard times. My background as a kindergarten teacher has also provided me with valuable perspectives on child development and the critical importance of early intervention. With training in child protection services and family support systems, I am well-equipped to address the needs of children and families from diverse backgrounds. Above all, I am passionate about coming alongside individuals and families to help them heal, strengthen their bonds, and thrive together.

Personal:

On a personal note, my faith in God, His Word, and my family is central to my life, shaping my approach to therapy. My husband of twenty-five years and I have been blessed with eight children through adoption and birth—we believe both adoption and birth are miracles from God. We have experienced the joys and challenges of infertility, special needs parenting, and raising a diverse family. Through it all, our unwavering devotion and love for our children has only deepened. Our journey has taught me valuable lessons that I now apply in helping others navigate difficult times.

I cherish the moments spent with my loved ones, creating memories that truly warm my heart. Growing up in Louisiana, I have a passion for gardening, cooking, camping, and enjoying the wonderful smell of a campfire. I enjoy my dog and cats, and I appreciate the beauty of the changing seasons. In my free time, you might catch me tending to my garden—strawberries are my favorite—painting, writing, diving deep into studying the Bible, or texting my older children and eagerly waiting for them to respond (insert smile). I feel incredibly blessed to have a wonderful extended family and amazing friends.

It would be an honor to support you as you stand at this important crossroads on your journey.
