If you are in need of counseling for children, adolescents or teens, our counselors work with children and teenagers, aged 6 to 18 years, to help them cope with challenges and thrive in life. Growing up will bring many ups and downs, and at times may be filled with the same big hurts that adults and parents experience. Young people need skills and a way to work through emotions to react to challenges in a healthy way.
Crossroads counselors are experienced in helping children dealing with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Trauma
- Divorce/family issues
- Self-esteem
- Behavior issues
- Grief
- Self-harm
- Bullying
- Sexual identity
We know that the isolation and changing school situations related to the pandemic have impacted our children in many ways, including their emotional health. We are here to help you navigate the impacts of remote learning, isolation, change in social habits, and other issues that may be impacting your family as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Coaching
Additionally, our counselors are available to provide life and career coaching to help teenagers learn more about who they are, and to discover their calling. Our Career By Design program is tailored to help teens design a path to provide direction as they move into college and adulthood.
Parent Collaboration
Counseling children and teenagers is a team effort that works best when there is close collaboration with parents. This helps kids and parents work on communication together, and to practice at home the tools learned in counseling.
To help parents, our counselors write blogs on numerous topics related to mental wellness for children, and often contain parenting tips. These are written monthly and can be found here.
Families are the cornerstone of society and we are committed to helping children and parents thrive. Crossroads counselors have a passion to help our youngest clients process through hurt or stress and discover their best selves.
