Celebrating a Victory Already Won

February 4, 2011 By Sue Miley

Hi! Thanks for visiting! Click here to subscribe to our blog.

When your car breaks down every time you are planning to attend church or a bible study….

When criticism or resentment comes out of the mouth that promised to love you til death do us part….

When we decide to go get a triple scoop ice cream sundae, instead of going to the audition, because we know we won’t get the part anyway….

When the contract falls through because of a technical clause in the fine print….

it is very likely Satan, messing with your confidence and putting lies in your head.

It is in this moment, that Satan steals, kills and destroys our hope, our heart, and our soul.

Until we turn back.

When you started praying again after years of anger towards God for not blessing you with a child….

When you stepped out in faith and began to tithe even though your spouse lost their job last week….

When you clung to God and stayed in His Word all through the project that you were working on with that tempting coworker…

When you went to serve children in the battered women’s shelter on the anniversary of your mother’s death from abuse…

We are reminded who is in control.

We are reminded that we can cling to God for protection from Satan.

Fortunately God has already conquered Satan.  As believers, we know this.  But Satan’s lies are convincing.  The moment we are distracted, the moment we turn our eyes from God, the moment the world pulls us into the crowd…..He is there to inflict doubt, suffering, and deceit into our hearts and minds.

Our protection, and weapon, every time is to turn back to God.

The triumphant Christian does not fight for victory; he celebrates a victory already won.

Captain Reginald Wallis

In eternity, Satan is impotent to harm you.  Claim eternity beginning now!

Sue, I have been walking in a situation that compels me to respond when you brought up criticism from another. I have been walking in that situation for over a year now. The comments made to our boss, behind my back, were truth embellished with untruth to make me look real bad. Yet when we are in a meeting or just the 2 of us he is as nice as he can be. If it were not for my walk with Jesus I would have acted and or said things I would have been very sorry for the moment I either said or did them. During my long career I became aware that there are basically 2 ways to get promoted. One was to climb over the bones of those above you. If you are the bone climber then you can be sure that someone will come behind you and climb over your bones as well and that will leave you without a job. The second method is to be the best and most willing worker the boss’ ever had. When you are the diligent worker and a supporter of those above you, when you get the promotion your coworkers will support you because they saw how you got the promotion. Thus you can continue to rise in that company. Sue, may God bless you richly for what you do for all of us who read your post.
